Regulations for Line Follower Enhanced
- General decision
- Competition participants can be single or numerous groups - up to 4 members, affiliated or non-members, forming a team. The team is required to register the participation using the form available on the competition website within the prescribed period.
- Each team can register up to 6 constructions for the competition. Each of them can participate in any number of competitions. The robot's participation in the competition is counted as a new construction (eg a robot exhibited in two competitions is counted twice, etc.).
- Any changes regarding the date, the start time of the competition and changes in the registration of teams will be posted on the competition website.
- The exact schedule of the competition will be published on the competition website and will also be available on-site during the competition. Any changes to the schedule will be published on the competition website or during the competition.
Specification of the robot
- The robot mustn’t be a commercial construction.
- The robot’s dimensions limits the size of A4. Maximum width must be smaller than 210mm, maximum length 297mm. Any change of dimensions and shape is forbidden.
- The weight and height of the the robot is not limited.
- The robot should have only an electric drive.
- The robot at the time of run must move autonomic. Any remote control while run is forbidden. Remote start and stop of the robot is allowable.
- The design of the robot should should allow to run on the judge's sign.
- The robot mustn’t detach from the ground.
- The robot mustn’t be danger for judges, participants and audience. In case of dangerous situation the robot must be stopped immediately.
Specification of track
- The track means a rectangular, white, flat surface on which the route is marked.
- The route of the run means a black line width 19mm, marked in a way not disturbing in run.
- The width of the track is 210mm, which means the minimum distance from the route to near obstacles and another lines.
- The route is closed circuit. the start line is the final line at once.
- Additionally, the route may have obstacles in not limited number. Obstacles are listed in point 4.
- The time of the run is measure by optoelectronic device. The measurement starts at the time of cross the start line by the robot. End of the measurement is cross the final line by the robot.
- The intensity of light above the track may vary.
- Sharp turn - turn with angle maximum to 90 degrees and radius 0.
- Cross - lines crossing at an angle 90 degrees. In the case of cross the robot should go straight ahead.
- Intermittent line - it may appear on a straight section or a gentle curve no closer than 20cm from the turn. Breaks not longer than 10cm in the case of a straight section, and 5cm for a curve.
- Accompanying line - line perpendicular to the route. Distance between an accompanying line and the route will be 19mm. Maximum length of this line is 50 cm.
- Bold line - line of doubled width. Maximum length of this line is 50 cm.
- Fake line - fake route, no closer than 15 cm to the route.
- Wall - a wall, maximum dimensions: width 6cm, length 30cm. The wall will be any color except black. The robot should avoid the obstacle returning to the right track no more than 40cm behind the wall. The robot is allowed to touch the wall. The recommended direction of passing the obstacle will be given on the day of the competition.
- Tunnel - a tunnel with a maximum length 50cm, a minimum width 35cm and a height at the lowest point of 20cm. The tunnel will have no curves.
- Intentional changes in light intensity - light of any color placed to not disturb near the intermittent line.
- Task of the robot is to complete route in the shortest time.
- The robot must follow the route marked by black line. In a case of miss route, the robot must return on the same place or closer to the start line. If the robot wouldn’t return to the route correctly, the run will find as not completed.
- In the case of leave the track by the robot, the run will find as not completed.
- The limit duration of the run is 2 minutes. If the robot will not complete the run in this time, the run will find as not completed.
- The run starts at the judge’s command. The contender sets the robot before the start line at place which judge will point. The robot should start the run at the judge’s sign. The contender should stop and remove the robot from the track after it’s complete the run.
Course of the competition
- The competition consists two stages: eliminations and finals.
- At the eliminations stage participates all of registered robots, all of them must complete correctly at least one run. Number of allowable runs is not limited. Order of runs is determined by the judge.
- Three the fastest robots pass to the final stage. Order of runs is determined by time from the elimination stage, first the fastest robot. All robots can use 3 runs in this stage, final result is the fastest from the final stage. The robot which achieve the fastest final result is the winner.
- Final route may be different then the route from the elimination stage.
- In case of no robot complete route properly, the winner is the robot which miss the route the nearest to the final line. In that case only the winner is awarded
- On the basis of the number of robots, the judges may decide on a different course of the contest.
- A construction not in accordance with these regulations may be disqualified.
- A participant who do not abide this regulations may be disqualified in this contest or whole competition.
- The main judge has the deciding voice during the dispute. He may decide on matters not covered or, in justified cases, contrary to these regulations.
- Participation in the competition is equivalent to familiarizing yourself with the regulations and the obligation to comply with them.
Consent to publication:
- Registering a robot in a competition means agreeing to the publication of basic information about it, ie the name of the robot, team name, University or Institution name, photos, videos and occupied by the Organizers and Partners of the Competition without informing the Builder or Team.
